Biography
Cher was born on 20th May 1946. Her career started in the 1960s as a singer with her and husband, Sonny Bono. Their most famous hit was "I"ve Got You Babe". Her participation in this duo led on to TV shows and a solo career, but, after her first divorce, during the 70s, her music was not very famous all over the world.
In the 80s she returned to the international scene as actress playing important roles in a lot of Hollywood movies including "Mask" (1985), "Moonstruck" (1987) and "The Witches Of Eastwick" (1987). She won an Oscar as Best Actress in 1985 for "Mask".
In 1987, Cher returned successfully to the music with singles and albums.In 1998, her single "Believe" was the best-selling in the UK of that year and the best-selling song by a woman ever in the UK!
Cher has two children, Chastity (1968) and Elijah (1976).
